Introduction
All animals need homes to live. Home protects themselves from the sun, rain, wind and enemies. The home that protects and covers animals is called shelter. Some animals make their own homes while some animals live in natural shelters. Animals make their own homes or use natural shelters according to the sizeof their bodies. Man makes home for domestic animals.
A. Homes of wild animals
Animals that live in forest are called wild animals. Some wild animals make their homes themselves. Some wild animals do not make their homes and use natural shelters.
Some wild animals live under trees. Big wild animals like elephants, giraffes, etc. live under the shades of trees.
B. Homes of domestic animals
Animals that are kept by human beings in their home are called domestic animals. Cows, buffaloes, horses, pigs, hens, goats, etc. are called domestic animals. Cows and buffaloes live in a shed. Horses live in a stable. Pigs live in a sty. Dogs live in a kennel.
C. Homes of aquatic animals
Fish live in water. We also keep fish in an aquarium. Animals that live in water are aquatic animals. Aquatic animals adapt themselves to water.
Frogs, salamanders, toads, etc. can live on both land and in water. Tortoises, crocodiles, crabs, etc. also live on both land and in water. They are called amphibians.
